Harriet was born to Tobe and William Feinne. She was the middle sibling of Lester Feinne and Gloria Ruthizer. She resided with her family, growing up in Floral Park and Bellerose, New York. Following graduation from Jamaica High School in Queens, New York, Harriet was employed as a runway model and department store saleswoman. Harriet married Daniel Joseph Levie upon his separation from the Navy following World War II. They then resided in Bellerose and Bayside, New York, raising their children Jacquelyn and Sandra.
Harriet was a homemaker and stay at home mother during the children’s younger years and later became a bookkeeper for the Weight Watcher and Heinz companies in Great Neck and Manhasset, New York. Upon retirement, Harriet and Daniel relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida, where they lived happily for many years.
Harriet was extremely talented, having many interests, pastimes, and endeavors. She was known for her cooking and baking. She was skilled in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Harriet displayed a passion for painting and experimentation with different genres, as well as the creative arts. She thoroughly enjoyed music, singing and playing both the guitar and ukulele. There was pride in finding, acquiring, and displaying antiques. She especially admired and liked to adorn herself in all that sparkled or glittered. Most of all, Harriet’s pursuits were expressions of family love. Whether a favorite dish or baked item was prepared for a holiday or in recognition of a birthday or celebration, clothes were sewn for a honeymoon, a costume was made for Halloween, a recital, or play, a sweater cap, or blanket was knit for a family member or keepsake on a baby’s arrival, invitations and themed outfits were created for a children’s party, or portraitures were painted, all were imagined and created with a full heart.
Harriet was preceded in death by Daniel Joseph Levie, her sweetheart of 77 years and adoring husband of 72 years respectively, and survived by daughters Jacquelyn Friedl and Sandra Kaye, son-in-law Raphael Friedl, granddaughters Whitney Friedl and Samantha Watkins, grandson Baxter Friedl, grandson-in-law Luke Watkins, significant others Judith Sass and Jenifer Limauro, great grandchildren Jaidan Daniel Friedl-Sass, Reagan Hope Watkins, Charles Daniel Watkins, Jesse James Friedl-Saas, Jude Henry Friedl-Sass, and Benjamin Ryan Watkins, and extended family Lauren Smith and Rick Kaye.
