Harriet Mullett, devoted and loving wife, mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma was called home to join our Lord and Savior on Friday, October 17th in Bluffton, SC. Harriet was born in Swainsboro, GA, the first child of Alexander and Dervis Neal. The family moved to Patterson, NJ shortly thereafter where they were blessed to add brothers Bob and Alex. After graduating from high school, Harriet and her family moved back to Savannah, GA. That is when she met the love of her life, Jack. They were married in the Cathedral Basilica of St John the Baptist, and began a 66 year love affair the likes of which is only experienced by true soulmates. During the first 22 years of this glorious union, Harriet and Jack were blessed (as far as we’re concerned) with three children, Kim, Jeff and James; and the family toured the world courtesy of the US Air Force. Harriet loved the Air Force life, and thoroughly enjoyed living in Spain, Germany, the Philippines and Australia taking full advantage of the adventures each provided.
Upon Jack’s retirement from the Air Force, the family moved to Lakeland, FL where they lived until Harriet finally had enough of “dodging” hurricanes. Harriet and Jack made a few more moves before finally settling in Bluffton, SC.
When Harriet allowed herself time away from being THE BEST MOM EVER, she enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing piano, playing golf and tennis, and practicing photography (especially flowers and birds). She loved spending time with her five grandchildren, Keelan, Kamron, Zach, Jaxson and Madison as well as her four great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kaisleigh, Lyla and Klara.
Most importantly, Harriet loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Together with Jack, Harriet cared deeply about the members of the various churches they attended with each move they made. She was a devoted deacon’s wife who was selfless in her concern for the welfare of each and every person whose path crossed her own.
Harriet was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Jack and is survived by her 3 children Kim, Jeff (wife Meredith) and James (wife Shelley), her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Sue Neal, her 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was a true beacon to her friends and family of what it means to be a believer. We will miss her terribly, but we also find solace in knowing she is now reunited with Jack in the presence of the Lord.
Harriet will be laid to rest, along side Jack, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on October 21, 2025.
A Memorial Services will be held at Saturday November 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Agatha's Church, 432 Adams St, Milton, MA 02186
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse Operation Heal Our Patriots.
