Bluffton, South Carolina has lost a light. Our beloved Heather Christian Nix entered into the presence of her Lord Jesus on August 6, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most, her beautiful family. She fought a courageous two-month battle with glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Born in Syracuse, NY, on September 24, 1980, and raised in the Lowcountry, Heather was truly one of a kind. She was vivacious, fierce, full of joy and humor, deeply faithful, and endlessly kind. Her energy was contagious, her smile could light up any room, and her heart was generous beyond measure. She loved God, her family, her friends, her clients, and her Lowcountry community with everything she had.
She was known for her deep authenticity, often sharing her most difficult moments publicly so that others would feel less burdened or alone.
In her own words: “This isn’t a story of tragedy. It’s actually beautiful. I’ve connected with people I haven’t talked to in literally years… We own NOTHING. I tried so hard to be a part of this ‘world’ that I lost myself… Praise HIM!!!!!!”
Heather brought over seven years of excellence to the real estate profession and was known among her colleagues and clients for her skill, warmth, honesty, wisdom, and, most especially, her joy. She was a connector, encourager, and advocate for her clients and fellow Realtors throughout Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, and the surrounding area.
Heather is survived by her loving husband, Kenny, whom she adored; her three precious daughters, Chandler, Rachel, and Samantha, who were the lights of her life; her mother, Mary Kent Stewart of Liverpool, NY; her brothers, Brian Stewart of Liverpool, NY, and Larry Stewart of Utica, NY; her sister, Laura Stewart of Manchester, NH; her mother-in-law, Pam Nix of Bluffton; her brother-in-law, Kodey Nix of Bluffton; her grandmother-in-law, Barbara “Bob” Nix Malphrus of Bluffton; her uncle, Joe Nix (Aunt Tammie) of Hilton Head Island; and many other cherished family members.
She was predeceased by her father, Theodore Francis Rightmyre, and her father-in-law, Ken Nix.
Heather leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, joy, faith, and courage that will live on in her family, friends, and community who will never forget her.
