Heather Ann Orff

Heather Ann Orff of Bluffton, SC, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday May 27, 2023 and is now with her Heavenly Father. She was born January 20, 1977 to the late Richard A. Orff and Wendy A. Orff in Framingham, MA. She grew up in Milford, NH and graduated from Milford High School and later earned an Associates in Business degree from Hesser College in Nashua. She followed her parents to South Carolina the end of 2011 and loved being here.

Although she struggled through life with many health issues, she found her calling in volunteering and giving to others. Shortly after moving south, she began working for Beaufort Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine which provided services to those without insurance. Soon she became involved in Community Bible Study and loved serving in the nursery and rocking the babies. Later she began helping with computer jobs for Caring Neighbors, Inc., an organization to help seniors age in their home, providing transportation and access to food services. Soon she was in charge of the Sign Up program, linking Neighbor needs with Volunteer availability. Ultimately, she was a valued member of the Board of Directors.

She publicly declared her faith in Jesus Christ through baptism in 2013 in the surf on Hilton Head Island. She was devoted to her bible study groups and continued to grow closer to God, right up until her death. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church which provided her with Small Group fellowships while studying the Bible. These and Community Bible Study were so very important to her.

Heather was artistic and creative, especially enjoying photography, often catching that perfect shot. She also created personal, artistic gifts for others, especially her Mom. Above all, she was a very sweet, caring and gracious person who would befriend anyone, but in her humility, never thought she deserved it. However, others knew better!

Heather is survived by her Mother, Wendy Ann Off Brantley (and step-father Quinton Brantley); her grandmother, Betty Pelletier of Nashua, NH; a brother, Michael (Emily Cohen) of Jamaica Plain, MA; a sister Stacy Orff of Moraga, CA,; her two much loved nephews, Sebastian Whitfield of Moraga and Wyatt Orff of Jamaica Plain; an uncle Brian Pelletier and his family of Merrimack, NH, and her loving Support Cat, Cooper.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Cornerstone Church, 1300 May River Rd, Bluffton.
