Helen Floyd Able, 81, widow of Harvey Able, passed away September 7, 2013 at Ridgeland Nursing Center in Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Hampton, SC on June 22, 1932 to the late Ben Floyd and Carrie Sauls Floyd Hale. She was the owner of Able's Snack Bar Restaurant for 36 years and was well known for her fried chicken and hamburgers. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church; former member, Euhaw Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and worked with the children's ministry; formerly employee of Holiday Wear Manufacturing; made many quilts over the years and donated them to be used for fund raising. She is survived by her son, Hal Able of Ridgeland, SC; daughters, Rita A. (Miles) Smith of Ridgeland, SC; Cheryl (Tom) Shofner of Chapin, SC; Gail A. (Cullie) Jolly of Ridgeland, SC; two brothers, Lee Floyd of Mooresville, NC; Earl (Miriam) Floyd of Hardeeville, SC; four grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Patrick Mason, Brian Carroll, Tiffany Able Harden; great grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Courtney Smith, Cayleigh Smith, Corey Smith, Aaron Mason, Kensley Mason, Ella Carroll, Eva Carroll, Spencer Carroll, Conner Carroll and Caleb Harden. She was preceded in death by her husband and her grandson, Corey Mason. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland with burial in Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements. (saulsfh.com) Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC with burial in the Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
