Helen Ruth Smith

Helen Ruth Smith, 96, of Beaufort, SC passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Helen was born August 4, 1926 in Waycross, GA to the late William Henry Smith and Helen Elizabeth Archer Smith. She was a founding member of the Brenda Club of Beaufort and a member of the Beaufort Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, was an avid reader and a Southern Baptist.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Smith (Ethel Thomas) of Falling Waters, WVA and Donna Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Knowles (Justin), Kristen Pryor, and Jeffrey Pryor; great-grandchildren, Josie Knowles and Theodore Knowles; and her dear friend, Loraine Pinkney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Vernon Smith and son, Andy Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ingram St., Ridgeland. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am until 10:30 am, Saturday at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
