Helen Jane Tack Blase

Helen Jane Tack Blase passed away on July 5, 2016 due to complications related to dementia and bulbar palsy at Ridgeland Nursing Center in Ridgeland, SC. She had been a resident of Hilton Head Island since 2006, originally residing in Maryland for most of her life. Mrs. Blase was born in Towson, MD on March 29, 1942. She attended Towson High School and the University of Maryland where she obtained a degree in education and met her husband. She was married in 1964 and gave birth to a son in 1966, and a daughter in 1971.

After teaching high school English for more than 25 years in Prince Georges County, MD public schools, she retired from teaching in 2001. She enjoyed traveling with her husband domestically and internationally, visiting several countries overseas since her retirement. She was a lifelong animal lover, and always had at least two cats in the house. Mrs. Blase had a flair for remodeling, home design, and interior decorating. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clint Blase, her son Brad Blase of Winchester, VA, and her daughter Gwen Blase of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by two granddaughters and one grandson of Winchester, VA.
