Henry Jebens Jr. passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022. Henry was born July 7, 1932, in Gary, Indiana. After serving in the army in the Korean War, Henry finished a machinist apprenticeship program at US Steel. He worked as a foreman in the blast furnace for 32 years. Henry began a water well drilling business, Crown Point Well & Pump, with his brother-in-law Dwayne Willy. It was part-time until he retired from US Steel and became his full time activity. For the past 22 years, he spent his retirement in Sun City, South Carolina and was involved in many activities in that community.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Willy of 29 years. He is survived by his second love, Carol Gray; daughter Susan Pachapa (Edward) of Waxhaw, NC and their children, Allison Harkey (Justin) and Matthew, and great grandchild Hallie Harkey; son Daniel Jebens (Lisa) of Greer, SC and their children, Christopher, Maranda, Spencer (Madison), Parker, Olivia, Amelia and Dalila; and brother Fred Jebens (Donna) of Cincinnati, OH. He also has many nieces and nephews.
Henry loved spending time outdoors, playing cards, woodworking and enjoying family trips. His sense of humor, funny quips, and playful side endeared him to all his family and many friends. Henry’s devotion and love for his family and friends has created many beautiful memories that will be held in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held in Indiana this summer.
