Henry David Padgett Jr.

Henry David Padgett, Jr. 92 of Bluffton passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Bloom of Bluffton. He was born in Ridgeland, SC on January 9, 1923 to the late Henry D. and Marie Bailey Padgett Sr. He was a retired Melrose and Haig Point Boat Captain; shrimper; former crop duster; flew out of Padgett Airfield in Fairfax; member Hardeeville Masonic Lodge; Past District Deputy Grand Master; member Edgar Mole Chapter Order of the Easter Star and past Worthy Patron. He was a Baptist. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his daughters, Bridie Louise Forbes of Bluffton and Gail Padgett of Beaufort; his sons, Kenneth F. (Carol M.) Padgett of Barnwell, SC and Paul A. (Elaine) Padgett of Beaufort, SC; brothers, Clifford Padgett (Jonene) of Atlanta, GA and Racine Padgett (Ellen) of Okatie, SC; one sister, Gail Carnworth (Andy) of Statesboro, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Joanna Forbes, Jenny King, Bo Padgett, Haley Padgett, Melissa Easler, Chris Padgett, Shannon Nagle, Cretian Myers, Christina Hardy, Brett Padgett, Patrick Fucci, Brian Fucci and Sierra Forbes and fifteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Beach Padgett, son, Henry D. Padgett III and grandson, Henry D. Padgett IV. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial in Bluffton Cemetery. The family requests gifts be made in memory of Henry Padgett Jr. to the Edgar Mole Chapter OES, P. O. Box 112, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will receive friends from 5 til 7, Monday evening, May 11, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial in Bluffton Cemetery.
