Herbert Reece Vance, Jr.

Herbert Reece Vance, Jr., 88, of Hardeeville, SC, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Vance was born April 20, 1928 in High Rock, NC to the late Herbert Reece Vance, Sr. and Helen Gladys Williams Vance. He was a retired chief petty officer in the United States Navy. He was a Christian.

Mr. Vance is survived by his sons, Herbert B. Vance of Faulkville, GA, Herbert R. Vance, III (Robin) of Hardeeville, SC, and Harmon Vance (Tammie) of Eden, GA; daughters, Linda Harris of Camden, SC, Elizabeth Ellis (Andy) of Anderson, SC, and Georgette V. Barnett (Michael) of Springfield, GA; sisters, Clara Robinson of Winnsboro, SC and Dorothy Pollard of Belton, SC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC.
