Herschel Thomas Breazeale

January 11, 1928 — August 9, 2023

Herschel T. Breazeale (95) passed away on August 9th in Bluffton, SC

Hersh was born to Thomas J. and Martha Breazeale on January 11, 1928 in Akron, Ohio. He was a talented problem solver and family man who helped many people to start their own businesses.

After graduating from the Henry Ford Trade School in Detroit, Michigan and completing his apprenticeship as a draftsman he enlisted in the U.S Army where he served 2 years in the 82nd Airborne Division.

On Memorial Day, 1948 he met his lifetime partner, Lorraine May. She knew she would marry him before the end of that first date.

He started his career at Ford Motor Company and later joined May Brothers Manufacturing. In 1970, with a small loan from Mr. May, he purchased Argon Tool Company. His success in business allowed him to help many friends and family to start their own business.

Hersh is survived by his wife Lorraine and three children, James, Thomas and Daniel. He was predeceased by his son Dr. David Breazeale.

Hersh shunned the spotlight. He was more wired for problem solving than for casual conversation. He was as dependable as the sunrise. He was a man of his word. He let other people take the credit for his success. He was charitable.

His family will host a visitation and funeral service on Monday, August 14th at the AJ Desmond Funeral Home at 2600 Crooks Rd. In Troy, Michigan. Visitation at 10:00 am – 12:00 and funeral service at Noon. Military honors and burial will be at the White Chapel Cemetery directly after the funeral service.
