Heyward Eugene Boyles

November 22, 1939 — February 11, 2024

Heyward Eugene Boyles passed away on February 11, 2024 at Sprenger Health Care, Bluffton.

Heyward was born in Tillman, SC on November 22, 1939 to the late James “Jim” Boyles and Caroline “Tinkie” Godley Boyles. He was also deceased by his brother, Jimmy Junior Boyles.

Heyward was a lifelong farmer working with his father and brother, after they passed, he worked with “Little Boy” Daley until “Little Boy” passed.  Heyward rode his bicycle all around Tillman picking up aluminum cans. He would ride his bike to Handy Dan’s in Tillman almost daily, where he would spend most of his day. He was a member of Tillman Baptist Church and he loved going to church. You could see Heyward riding his bike all over Tillman, and you knew it was him by the bright orange vest he wore while riding.

He is survived by his cousins – JB Brabham and Sheila, Leon H. Boyles Sr. and Loretta, Curtis Brabham and (Claire) Patricia Boyles, Elizabeth Smith, Bernice Malphrus and Charles and Renee Robiston, as well as other cousins and relatives.

The family appreciates Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hospice, and Sprenger Health Care of Bluffton for the care and compassion they provided to Heyward during this time.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Sauls Funeral Home , 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.  Graveside services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Floyd Cemetery, Tillman, SC.
