Hoyt M. Spearman, Sr.

Hoyt Martin Spearman Sr., 81, of Hilton Head, SC peacefully passed away on July 31,2023 at home surrounded by his family.  Hoyt was born July 15,1942 in Anderson, SC to Harold and Cornelia Timms Spearman. In 1983 Hoyt and his wife, Phyllis, moved to Moss Creek Plantation.

Hoyt was a District Manager for 37 years in the retail grocery business. He had a passion for cars, especially corvettes and was a member of the Coastal Corvette Club. Hoyt was an animal lover, and his constant companion and best friend was Millie, his beloved Scottish Terrier.

Hoyt was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of 62 years, his four children, daughter Dee Heaton (Richard), son Marty Spearman (Gina), daughter Katherine Swanson (Mark), and daughter Julia Murph (Wiley), grandchildren Jennifer King, Jacqueline Woodcock, Hoyt Spearman III, Caroline Spearman, Mary Grace Swanson, Madeline Murph, Calhoun Murph and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held at The Church of the Cross Historic Campus on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
