Idell Benton Cooler

Idell Benton Cooler, 89, of Hardeeville, SC and widow of Lewis Cooler, passed away at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville on February 22, 2016. Idell was born in Bluffton, SC on September 3, 1926. She was a homemaker and member of Red Dam Baptist Church. She loved her family and was well known for her cooking and serving meals to her family on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is survived by her three sons, Louis L. Cooler of Brooklet, Ga., R. Dennis Cooler (Darlene) of Guyton, Ga. and Ricky L. Cooler of Hardeeville, SC.; a brother, Tommy Benton (Connie) of Ridgeland, SC; her sisters Madeline Self and Margaret Thomas, both of Hardeeville, SC and Dora Sauls of Beaufort, SC; eleven grandchildren; and forty-three great grandchildren. Idell is predeceased by her daughter, Myrtis M. Hall, brothers Rudolph Benton and Billy Benton. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm in the Red Dam Baptist Church, Hardeeville, SC on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
