Irma Jean Herrington, 62, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on October 14, 2015 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC. Irma Jean was born on October 25, 1952 in Loris, SC to the late David John and Sallie Ray Herrington. Irma Jean was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC. She enjoyed traveling and had recently returned from a cruise to Alaska, where she saw her favorite bird, the Bald Eagle. Irma Jean enjoyed cooking for her family. Her fried chicken and prime rib were in a league of their own. Irma Jean is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Bellflower (Joey) of Ridgeland, SC; a loving friend who was like a daughter, Tina Sandsbury-Griggs of Beaufort, SC; two brothers, Rodger Dale Herrington (Eunice) of Aynor, SC and David Earl Herrington (Phyllis) of Mullins, SC; two sisters, Evon Skipper (Leonard) of Cool Springs, SC and Dianne Herrington of Marion, SC; and a sister-in-law, Willa Dean Herrington-Webster of Nichols, SC. She is predeceased by her brother, J.C. Herrington. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Ridgeland Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC with burial at Grahamville Cemetery, Grahamville, SC. The family will receive friends beginning an hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will include Rob Brown, Jimmy Herrington, Rodger Herrington, Keith Herrington, Charles Skipper, and Mitch McRae.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MUSC Foundation Patient Support Services Fund, Hollings Cancer Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas Street, MSC 955, Charleston, SC 29425 Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Ridgeland Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC with burial at Grahamville Cemetery, Grahamville, SC.
