Irwin Joel Rubinstein

Irwin Joel Rubinstein, 71 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, SC.He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 19, 1938. He was the son of the late Solomon and Matilda Jacobs Rubinstein.He was a retired educator with the John Bowne High School in Flushing, Queens, NY. He received his undergraduate degrees from Queens College and his masters from Adelphia University. He was a frequent contributor to Island Packet and Bluffton Today. He was on the writing staff for Sunsations. He was a member of the Democratic Club, Shalom Club and Duplicate Bridge Club.He is survived by his wife, Harriet F. Rubinstein of Bluffton, SC; two daughters, Ellen R. Garnett of Spring Hill, FL and Diane R. (Tom) Fleury of Summerville, SC and grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Garnett and Thomas, Gregory and Alison Fleury.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
