J. Robert (Bob) Simanski, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025.
Born to the late John and Mary (Sapp) Simanski, Bob lived a life defined by dedication, humility, and love for his family. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he honorably served with the 103rd Airborne Division as a paratrooper, specializing in special communications and marksmanship as a sniper during the Vietnam War. His courage and discipline in service to his country shaped the man he would become.
When Bob relocated to Ocoee, Florida, a new and defining chapter began- one that would lead him to both his greatest career opportunity and the love of his life, Kathryn (Kathy). Bob began his career at Disney World as a street sweeper, and through perseverance and integrity, rose through the ranks to retire from Epcot management after twenty-one years. His time with Disney was one of the greatest joys of his life, filled with pride, accomplishment, and friendships that lasted well beyond retirement.
Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He played several musical instruments and found peace and purpose tending to his plants and greenhouse.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife and love of his life, Kathy Simanski; his son Kenneth Simanski, his stepdaughters Melinda Wilson and her husband Robert, and Rebecca Wilson; his sister Judith Connelly and her husband Mike; and his niece Erica Ralston and her husband Keith. He is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jeffery Simanski.
Bob and Kathy shared a deep love for traveling together, with St. Augustine, Florida, holding a special place in their hearts. They found joy in life’s simple pleasures- watching the clouds drift by, admiring birds in flight, and spotting butterflies sitting side by side.
Bob will be remembered for his integrity, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to family. His legacy of love, service, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
