James A. €Œjim” Fick

James A. "Jim" Fick, 66 of Bluffton, SC died Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Mr. Fick was born on May 19, 1948 in Fremont, OH. He served as a police officer for the city of Fremont for ten years. He later worked in sales and real estate in Fremont before retiring to Bluffton, SC. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church. Mr. Fick was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fick. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Fick; son, Tim Fick and wife Bonnie of Bluffton, SC; daughter, Tammy Velliquette and husband Troy of Bluffton, SC; mother, Dorothy Kramer Fick of Fremont, OH; brothers, John Fick and wife Rose Ann of Westerville, OH and Joe Fick and wife Jill of Fremont, OH; grandsons, Ty Fick, Brenden Fick, and Logan Velliquette; and his beloved dog, Jake. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Low Country Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. Also, a memorial mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Bluffton Dog Parks, PO Box 2534, Bluffton, SC 29910 or to Saint Francis Catholic School, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.
