James Joseph Beck

James Joseph Beck was born November 1, 1944 in Manhattan, New York and he was the only child to his parents Dorothy and Albert Beck.

Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Queens, NY and then in 1957 to W. Berry, Long Island, NY where Dorothy Beck remarried Dr. A. Rabinowitz a practicing physician in Astoria Queens.

Jim graduated from Westbury High School, and later received a BSIE (Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering) from Hofstra University and a MSIE (Master's of Science Industrial Engineering) from Brooklyn Polytechnic, NY. He was employed as Vice President of International Operations with Carter Wallace. Jim was also Vice President at Church and Dwight for Internal Operations.

Jim retired in 2005 and relocated to Riverbend Sun City in December 2014.

Jim was predeceased by his first wife of 46 years, Diane.  Jim is survived by his daughter Jessica Murphy (Jim); loving grandchildren Laurelin Murphy and Sadie Murphy.  Jim is survived by his most devoted wife, Janet (Burns) and stepchildren, Dr. William Largen and Janine Rubel, whom he regarded with great affection.

Jim enjoyed world traveling, music and dancing, car racing, golf, billiards, and spending time with his beloved family and two Maine coon kitties.
