James M. Brundage, 88, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2011 at NHC Bluffton. Jim was preceded in death by Mickie Brundage, his wife of 62 years. He is survived by two children, his son Jimmy and his wife Cathy Brundage of Westerville, OH, and his daughter Donna and her husband Mike McCarty of Bluffton, SC. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Kim Brundage and their children Kenzie and Payton of Miramar Beach, FL, Ryan and his wife Mandy Brundage and their children Wyatt and Remy of Lancaster, OH, Scott and his wife Melissa McCarty and their children Abby and Molly of Canton, GA, Emily Brundage of Westerville, OH, and Liz McCarty of Jacksonville, FL. Jim was born December 2, 1922 in Mesa, AZ to Elmer and Grace Lamb Brundage. He served proudly in WWII and then he and Mickie moved to Columbus, Oh after the war ended. Jim graduated from The Ohio State University and enjoyed a distinguished career as a senior partner in a civil engineering firm. Jim enjoyed golf and bridge and gardening in his free time. Jim and Mickie retired to Naples, FL where Jim discovered a talent for painting, and they eventually moved to Sun City in Bluffton, SC. Jim held his family and friends in the highest regard and this kind and generous man was loved by everyone who knew him. Jim and his family are especially grateful to the physician and wonderful nurses who cared for him so compassionately. Arrangements are being made through Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton. The family will honor Jim with a small service this summer and requests that in lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, PO Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910
