James Barrie Collins

James (Jim) Barrie Collins, age 83, of Bluffton, SC, passed away on October 23, 2018.

Mr. Collins was born in Connecticut on January 20, 1935. His father was the late Edward H. Collins, financial editor of the New York Times, and Marion Peters Collins. He was married for 42 years to the late Sandra L. Collins.

Mr. Collins attended Castle Heights Military Academy and served honorably in the United States Army. He was the first administrator of the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. He was a Lifetime Master bridge player and enjoyed golf and tennis.

A loving and committed husband and father, Mr. Collins is survived by his son, Barrie Collins (Angela) of Athens, GA; his daughter, Kimberly Beach (Roy W.) of Carrollton, GA; his sister, Janet Buckingham (Charles); seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton.
