James Alton Dean

James Alton Dean, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC.He was born on November 23, 1924 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Jesse Lee Dean and Gladys Archer Dean. Mr. Dean was a representative for Pan American Insurance Company for 56 years. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater and he was a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Pearl B. Dean of Ridgeland, SC; one son, James (Jimmy) A. Dean, Jr. also of Ridgeland, SC; one daughter, Joanne D. (Stephen) Young of Charleston, SC; one brother, Claude E. (Beatrice) Dean of Ridgeland, SC; one sister, Beverly Morrison of Estill, SC and three grandchildren, Spencer, Tucker and Savannah Young. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Dean.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 26, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel of Ridgeland, 310 W. Adams Ave. with burial in the Ridgeland cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
