James E. Fludd

James E. Fludd, 76 of Bluffton, SC and husband of Geraldine A. Fludd passed away on September 29, 2016 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC. Mr. Fludd, a native of Bluffton, SC, was born on February 12, 1940 to the late Luke Clarence Fludd and Queen Esther Altman Fludd. Mr. Fludd was an US Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America who served over 40 years in the Walterboro, Hilton Head and Bluffton area as Scout Leader and Commissioner. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Mr. Fludd was very active in the Bluffton community. He was a member of the Hilton Head Ocean Waves Square Dancing Club. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mr. Fludd is survived by his sons, Trey Fludd (Gretta) of Bluffton and Stephen Fludd (Lea Anne) of Bluffton; his sister, Betty Fludd Colletti of Hardeeville; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his brothers, Albert Fludd, Joseph Fludd and Clarence Luke Fludd. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Drive, Bluffton with burial to follow at Indian Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 389 Fording Island Rd., Bluffton. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Saint Gregory the Great Building Fund in memory of James Fludd.
