James Fredrick Hooks, 64 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Hilton Head Medical Center, Hilton Head Island, SC.
He was born in High Point, NC on July 29, 1949 to the late James Fredrick and Ruby Hooks. He was a maintenance engineer for Old South Apartments. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing, camping, going to car shows and flea markets. He loved to help people and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Springs Hooks of Bluffton; three sons, Shannon S. Thacker (Karen) of Charlotte, NC, Chris Thacker of Omaha, Nebraska and Jamie Hooks of Rockingham, NC; one daughter, Kim Chewning (Ron) of Hardeeville, SC; grandchildren, Holly Chewning, Carley Fowler, Miriah Chewning, Jim Thacker, Christopher Thacker, Bryson Thacker and Cheyenne Thacker and great grandchildren, Clayton Chewning, John Fowler, Logan Fowler, Bella Fowler, Jacob Land, Parker Fowler and Ryder Chewning.
A Celebration of Life will be held 5-7pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Old South Club House, Bluffton.
