James A. "Jim" Angelo

Jim Angelo of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away at home July 6, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Son of Tom Angelo and Pansy Raymond, he was born November 21, 1938 in Lockport, NY, where he attended DeSalle High School before entering the US Army in 1961.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and, after his discharge, he worked in the construction industry in NY until his move to Hilton Head in 1997, where he worked in the construction and Fire Protection industry. An avid golfer, Jim could be seen on the links at most Hilton Head area golf courses; he was a highly regarded amateur golfer.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Libby” Ellis of Hilton Head Island, SC; his sister, Linda Manson (Alec) of Lockport, NY; four children: Gregg Angelo of Lockport, NY; Melissa Lewis (Mark) of Grand Island, NY; Traci Ackerman (Mike) of Grand Island, NY; Ray Ellis of Hilton Head Island, SC; five grandchildren: Madison Sansone; Elle Ackerman; Michael, Kasey and Lucas Stover.

Services will be held on July 20, 2018 from 1pm – 3pm at Sauls Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Hospital are requested ( www.stjude.org ).
