James Charles Marean, 83, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully, February 27, 2023 at his home. James was born March 12, 1939, in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Charles H. Marean and Ellen May James Marean. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and boating.
He started out as a shop teacher at Pleasantville High School, Pleasantville NJ and then moved onto a career with Mobile Oil Company.
He started his own business, Aurora Equipment in 1978 and changed the name to Fluid Kinetics, Inc. in 1981, which focused on manufacturer’s water and wastewater equipment. They built new pumping stations for the entire New York Prison System, and many more projects.
He married Margel Graham in 1963 (predeceased) who he was happily married for 52 years. In 2018, Jim married his wife Joan Marean (nee Sanchez), and they resided in Bluffton, SC.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Orchard Park, NY and as a child lived in Absecon, NJ. After the death of his first wife he moved to South Carolina and some time in Florida in his later years to do what he loved most, fishing and boating with friends.
James is survived by his wife, Joan Marean (nee Sanchez); step-daughter, Lori Shank, brothers Lee Marean(Jackie), Harry Marean(Lynn) sister in law, Ronnie (Bob, deceased) Marean and many nieces and nephews.
