James Peter Nowakowski

James Peter Nowakowski, 80 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home.He was born in Willard, OH on January 31, 1932 and the son of the late Constantine (Anthony) and Victoria Ptak Nowakowski.He was Vice President of the Catholic Divison of Silver-Burdett & Ginn Publishers. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church and a member of the Kiwanis Club. He played Basketball for Tulane University and was an avid golfer.He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Nowakowski of Bluffton; three sons, Mark David Nowakowski (Colleen) of Phoenixville, PA, Matthew Nowakowski (Maureen) of Ledgewood, NJ and Peter Nowakowski (Lisa) of Effort, PA; one daughter, Lynne Nowakowski of Portland, OR; one brother, Constantine Nowakowski (Carolyn) of Lake Junaluska, NC and five sisters, Veronica Nowakowski of Tiffin, OH, Ida Nissen of Milton, FL, Ann Dion of Long Beach, Mississippi, Mary Rank (Jim) of Huron, OH and Margaret Stuart (Chuck) of Mansfield, OH and twelve grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, November 30, 2012 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service.Memorial donations may be made in memory of James Nowakowski to either Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, PO Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910 or to St. Gregory the Great, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, South Carolina, 29909.
