James Richard O'Dell

James Richard O'Dell, 81, died May 2, 2020, in Bluffton, SC. Jim was born in Kingsport, TN, and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1956. After graduating from Virginia Military Institute in 1960, Jim began work with Ingersoll-Rand. His 38 years with I-R included managing various divisions and overseas travel, retiring as VP of Technology in 1998.  Jim was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Suzanne Southee O'Dell, sister Marilyn (Jim) Minchey of Black Mountain, NC, daughters Cynthia O'Dell, Teresa LeBlanc, Lisa (John) Yamin, Melissa (Scott) Olson, grandchildren Michael Yamin, Ashley LeBlanc, Samantha Yamin, Devin LeBlanc, Cooper Olson, niece Kim Minchey Wiete and many great nieces/nephews.

Jim O'Dell will be buried at a later date in Epiphany Roman Catholic Cemetery in Sayre, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorials for James Richard O'Dell may be made in his name to the Virginia Military Institute Bayliss Scholarship or to a charity of choice.
