James Tury Oesterling

James Tury Oesterling, 81, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 in the Hilton Head Medical Center, Hilton Head Island, SC He was the son of the late Emanuel and Barbara Tury Oesterling.He was a Chemical Engineer. He served in the US Merchant Marine and US Army during World War II. He was a member and financial officer of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-01. He was a Mason, Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite.He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, two daughters, Tina (Chuck) Webb-Browning and Jill (Jim) Nevins; one brother, Robert; three grandchildren, Chelsey and Joe Webb and Erin Lampman.Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Fund, 4200 Wilson Blvd., Suite 610, Arlington, VA 22203-1804 or the American Cancer Society, Suite 101, 59 Pope Avenue, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
