James Willers Pervier died peacefully March 12, 2015 at Hilton Head Hospital under the gentle care of Tidewater Hospice. Born October 10, 1925 to Willard and Blanche Pervier in Chicago, Illinois, Jim was especially proud of his service as a Naval Seabee in the Philippines during W.W.II.
Quiet but accomplished, Jim was a firm believer in education and "giving back" to the community. He volunteered innumerable hours to Meals on Wheels, Calhoun Station (Bluffton Charities) and judging statewide science fairs. Equally proud of his alma mater Northwestern University, he earned two Masters Degrees, and as the Director of Research and Engineering of a Fortune 500 Company, traveled worldwide.
A resident of Rose Hill Plantation for 31 years, he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce, daughters Cynthia Pervier and Pamela (Donald) LaRue, and three devoted grandsons, James Kendall LaRue, Dale Russell LaRue and Scott Pervier LaRue.
A Memorial service and Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Calhoun Station, Box 604, Bluffton, SC.
