James Francis Reardon departed this life quietly in his sleep on October 4, 2026 at 58 years old.
If you ever dreamed of changing people’s lives for the better by elevating their living or working conditions, then you would understand the life of James Francis Reardon. He was an award-winning architectural designer, president and founder of Reardon Design, LLC. By focusing on his clients’ wishes and dreams, James created or recreated spaces that fulfilled them through his intense attention to details. In 2024, James received a Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation award for his work on a home in historic Savannah. Beyond his outstanding architectural designs in Savannah, Pooler, Hilton Head, Bluffton, Hardeeville and other locations around the Low Country, he was a person of warmth and devotion.
He met his person, Jennifer, at Savannah College of Art and Design while obtaining his Master’s of Fine Arts in Architecture. They married in her home parish in Nashville, TN in 1998. James was devoted to his wife, his daughter, Kayla, friends, family, clients, and neighbors.
James was a recipient of a simultaneous kidney-pancreas transplant. He worked tirelessly for his community, including previous leadership as a Commissioner on the Pooler Planning and Zoning Board.
James now joins his parents, Sandra Meehan Reardon and Joseph Michael Reardon, and his siblings, Jennifer Reardon, Joseph Michael Reardon, Jr., and John Reardon. He also joins his best friend, college roommate, and “brother from another mother,” Joel B. Crowe.
James leaves behind his wife of nearly 28 years, Jennifer McReynolds Reardon, his daughter, Kayla McReynolds, and siblings, Jacqueline Reardon, Stephanie Reardon Griffin, Kimberley Reardon, Terrance Reardon, and many nieces and nephews.
Forever, he will be known for his strong work ethic, devotion to his country as an Army veteran, faithful servant of his faith, and the most devoted friend a friend could have.
Funeral mass will be held on October 24, 2026 at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1745 Benton Blvd., Savannah, GA 31407.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the non-profit organizations that were close to James’s heart: Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Greenbriar Children’s Home of Savannah, Old Savannah City Mission, or the Lowcountry Autism Foundation.
