James Lee Smith

James Lee Smith, 65, of Hampton, SC, passed away on August 22, 2024. He was born in Grays, SC, on August 11, 1959, to Walter and Eunice Smith.

James was a Christian, a member of Robertville Baptist Church,  a Master Mason member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge, a Knight Templar York Rite Mason, a member of Omar Shrine Temple in Charleston, SC, and well known for his work to raise donations for the Shriner’s Hospital in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and watching the Atlanta Braves play.

James is survived by his wife, Kecia Ann Smith of Hampton, SC; sons, Jeremy Dorsett (Holli) of Knoxville, TN, Michael Dorsett (Hannah) of Troy, NC, and Taylor Dorsett of Star, NC; grandchildren, Blakeli Vann, Raylin Dorsett, and J.J. Dorsett.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from five o’clock to seven o’clock in the evening at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Shriner's Hospital in memory of James.
