James E. Tuten, Jr. died May 8, 2013 at his home in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
He was born on September 3, 1954 the son of Betty Malphrus and James Tuten of Ridgeland.
Jimmy was the owner and operator of Acme Auto & Wrecker Service in Hardeeville for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in the Savannah River. He was a member of the Hardeeville MRS for years. He participated in fundraisers for Shriners and the Ridgeland organization BMAD.
He loved to dress up as Santa Claus at Christmas for the children and was known to pick up stalled cars as Santa. He was kind and loving and would help out anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his fiancé, Tere Miller; 2 sons, James Tuten III and Derrick Tuten; 1 daughter, Amanda Mincey all of Hardeeville. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Dustin Tuten, Alexis Tuten, Jesse Mims, and Haylee May Tuten all of Hardeeville.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the James Tuten Memorial Fund, 241 Goethe Farm Road, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland.
