James Edwin Vaughan

THE JOURNEY HOME

There is a path that leads to a turn in the road

and we each must travel there,

Where the Father waits to take us home

to the shelter of His care.

Where happiness and peace and joy replace the

tears and pain,

And our loved ones rest in the arms of God.

Our loved one, James Edwin Vaughan, made that journey home on March 24th. Jim was a Vietnam veteran who served his country and retired from the US Air Force and a loving father to his son, James I Vaughan.  Mr. Vaughan was voted 2012 Chatham County Veteran of the Year and was very instrumental in collecting food for the Old Savannah City Mission at Christmas time. We will remember him for his strong military support and his care and loving smile for his family. The funeral service will be Friday, April 8th at 11:00 am at Sauls Funeral Home in Ridgeland, SC.   In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations, in the name of James E. Vaughan, to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 671, Savannah, GA where he was a member.
