Janis E. Brodrick

Janis E. Brodrick, 68, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Montclair, VA died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Hilton Head Hospital. Mrs. Brodrick was born on June 4, 1947 in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of the late John H. Dowd and Marie E. Schibler Dowd. She was a graduate of Georgian Court University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She was retired from the federal government where she worked as a Senior Program Analyst. While living in Bluffton she was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and volunteered her time with the Saint Vincent DePaul Society and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Mrs. Brodrick’s interests also included playing golf and world travel. Mrs. Brodrick was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Dowd. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Walter Brodrick; brothers-in-law, Michael Brodzicki (Kathleen) of Bluffton, SC and John Brodzicki (Vera Silva) of South River, NJ; nephew, Ryan Brodzicki of Asbury Park, NJ; and niece, Marissa Brodzicki of Point Pleasant, NJ. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research.
