Jay Fredrick Dalton, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 2, 2021 after 7 years of battling several rare cancers. Jay was born in Detroit, Michigan to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dalton. At the time of his death, he was retired. He had been a skilled welder for Boeing and an officer in the Army National Guard. He had also been a successful salesman.
His memory will be cherished by his wife Joyce and his family: Vicki Porter, Carol Britsche, Tim Dalton, Tom Donner, Rhonda Dalton, Kevin Dalton, Mark Dalton, Darrin Dalton, Tim Dalton Jr., Mike Dalton, and Sean Dalton, Rachel Gibson, Karen and Les Wicks, and many dear friends. He will be remembered for his strong faith in God, his quick wit and sense of humor, and his diverse talents. He demonstrated expertise in various hobbies, including outdoor sports, drawing, hydroponics, and bonsai plants.
Jay was preceded in death by his son, Matthew and his parents.
He attended the Praise Assembly of God Church in Port Royal, South Carolina. Jay was passionate in his Kairos Prison ministry, and he was a strong advocate for the Praise Assembly of God’s Hope House Addiction Ministry, Teen Challenge, Dave Roever Ministry, DAV, and many other ministries that support emotionally wounded men.
Jay will live on through the lives he touched so profoundly.
A private family memorial service will be held on December 4, 2021. Pastor Jaimie Gardner will be officiating. Expressions of love can be sent in Jay Dalton’s memory to the organizations listed above and the American Cancer Society.
