Jay Anthony Shanks

Jay Anthony Shanks, 46, of Bluffton, SC passed away suddenly on Friday, February 13, 2009 as the result of an accident in Riceboro, GA.He was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 2, 1962. He was the son of Patricia Moseler Shanks and the late Charles Shanks.In 1993 they relocated to Hilton Head Island, SC. He was a brick mason and a US Army veteran.He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly D. Shanks of Bluffton, SC; his mother, Patricia M. Shanks of Antioch, IL; three loving daughters, Tess E., Paige R. and Emma R. Shanks all of Bluffton, SC; two brothers, Greg (Alice) Shanks of Bluffton, SC and Jon Shanks of Spooner, WI; and one sister, Mary Barrett of Spooner, WI and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Jay will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother and as an avid golfer. His great good sense of humor and kindness to others will be remembered.Memorial Services will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home beginning at 5:30 pm until the hour of the service on Friday.
