Jeanette Nettles Mohn, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, went to her heavenly home on October 23, 2026, at the age of 78. Born in Ridgeland, South Carolina on June 25, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Helen C. Nettles. Her life was defined by her love for her family, second only to her love for the Lord.
Committed to serving her Lord and Savior, Jeanette was a dedicated member of Coosawhatchie Baptist Church. She faithfully served as the Prayer Chain Coordinator and was affectionately known as the “Candy Lady,” always welcoming everyone with a sweet treat and a loving smile.
Jeanette had a beautiful way of showing her love for others through the simple things she did. Whether she was baking something or crocheting blankets with her own hands, every stitch and every homemade treat was filled with love. These were more than just gifts; they were heartfelt expressions of Jeanette’s kindness, thoughtfulness, and the special bond she shared with so many. It was her way of wrapping others in love, one stitch and one sweet treat at a time.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Vali Mixson (Ronald), Amy Hayward (Al), Melissa Cristofoletti (Fabian), and Elizabeth Smith (Keith); her grandchildren, Matthew (Lynn), Randy, Nicholas, Lindsay (Randall), Meagan (Jimmy), Jonathan (Megan), McKinley, Gavin, Jennifer (Jason), Lonnie and Hannah; and her great-grandchildren, Bryleigh, Carter, Harper, McKenna, Adelynn, Wylder, Eleanor, Marty, Jimbo, Ansley, Jaxon, Emerald, Ivory, and Violet. She is also survived by her sister, Cathy McElhaney, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service celebrating Jeanette’s life will be held at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church, 3853 Morgandollar Rd., Coosawhatchie, SC on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service at Grahamville Cemetery, 3234 Smiths Xing, Ridgeland, SC.
