Jeffrey Francis Zabler

Jeffrey Francis Zabler, age 69 of Bluffton, SC passed from this life on May 4, 2013. Jeff was born on December 3, 1943 in New York City.He was the son of the late John and Mary Zabler. Jeff was married to his most beloved and loving wife Maureen Anne, who passed from this life February 22, 2011. Jeff began his career as an economics professor, at LaSalle College in Philadelphia, PA and then at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Subsequently he worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC and then for the Bureau of Land Management, US Department of the Interior both in Washington, DC and in Denver, CO. Jeff also served in the United States Navy. He earned his BA degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and his Ph.D from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Jeff was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He is survived by his son Jake (and Beth) Zabler and grandchildren, Olivia, Kolya and Cait and his sister, Cecily (Gregory) Hardy, 2 neices, Marni (Ross) Fulton and Caroline Kasdaglis. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, May 13, 2013 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service at the church. Jeff will rest with his beloved wife Maureen at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens.
