Jerald Madison Beard

Jerald Madison Beard, 29 of Beaufort, SC passed away on September 28, 2023. Madison, as his friends and family knew him, was born in Elizabethtown, NC and graduated from Hilton Head High School in 2011 followed by USCB where he studied Computational Engineering.

Madison was employed as an assistant superintendent at Horizon, Inc. and absolutely loved what he did. Madison was the happiest he's ever been when he was spending time with his son, Jerald, who was his pride and joy. He and Jerald were always a team. He was known for his beautiful head of hair and larger-than-­life mustache and was extremely proud of it.  Madison was literally an encyclopedia of knowledge, was confident and witty and never met a person he couldn't convince that he was always right. Madison was known as the fixer of his large group of friends. He was the go-to person for all his friends and family and a problem solver. No matter what the challenge, Madison would indulge in it and not stop until he found the answer. Having an IQ of 172, Madison was extremely gifted and talented when it came to electronics, Apple cell phones and computers, and very passionate about cars. He enjoyed modifying any vehicle he owned to upgrade its performance.

Madison is survived by his wife, Victoria Mae Booker Beard and a son Jerald Madison Beard Jr. He is also survived by his father Jerry Michael Beard II of Bluffton, Mother Toni Tatum Beard of Elizabethtown, NC and a sister MacKenzie Kaylin Beard of DeBary, Florida. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd Jerald and Brenna "Kay" Tatum and survived by his grandmother, Nancy Beard Ashworth and grandfathers, the late Jason Russell Ashworth and the late Jerry Michael Beard, several cousins, and numerous dear friends.

The family will receive friends at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton SC on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Additional visitation for friends and family will be held immediately following at Michael and Stephanie's house in Bluffton, SC.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 4th at 3 p.m. at Tatum Cemetery, Sweet Home Church Rd., Elizabethtown, NC. Will receive friends and family immediately following at Tink and Toni's house in Harrells, NC.
