He was the son of the late James Knox Houston and Tessie Lowery Houston.He was retired from the Department of Defense. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed sports, especially golf, and traveling. He coached the Little League Baseball team. He was a member of the Sun City
