Jill S. Berkey

Jill S. Berkey, 69, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Jill was born June 16, 1956 in Roanoke, VA to the late Andrew Lewis Simmons and Margaret Lee Plewes Simmons. She moved to Ridgeland as a young girl and graduated from Thomas Heyward Academy. After graduation, she moved to Hilton Head Island and started a family with her first husband, Myles Haymans. Together, they had two children, Myles and Jennifer. She then married Bob Berkey, and together, they had Matthew and Aaron. Jill adored her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit. Jill worked as a tax professional with H&R Block.

Jill is survived by her children, Myles Haymans (Amanda) of Windsor, SC, Jennifer Watkins (Johnny) of Holly Hill, SC, Matthew Berkey (Heather) of Ridgeland, and Aaron Berkey of Ridgeland; brother, Timothy A. Simmons of Ridgeland; grandchildren, Harley, Lexi, Danielle, Summer, Amber, Danica, and Addy Mae; two great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Moser and William "Billy" Moser.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Nixville Baptist Church, 3915 Two Sisters Ferry Rd. Estill, SC 29918.
