Jimmie Parker Mills

Jimmie Parker Mills, 82 of Ridgeland, SC and husband of Barbara Woods Mills, passed away on November 23, 2016 at his home. Mr. Mills was born in Ridgeland, SC on February 15, 1934 to the late Harry H. Mills and Julia Gray Mills. Mr. Mills was the Supervisor for Food Stamp Operations for Beaufort County Department of Social Services; a graduate of Columbia Bible College; US Air Force Veteran; member Great Swamp Baptist Church; loved to sing and play his guitar and a great teacher of the Bible. In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mr. Mills is survived by his sons, James Parker (Bo) Mills of Ridgeland, SC, Harry Kenyon Mills (Debbie) of Greensboro, NC, Benjamin Earl Mills (Cheryl) of Ridgeland, SC, Robert Allen Mills (Clara) of Beaver Dam, VA, David L. Mills of Ridgeland, SC and Frank Joseph Mills (Renee) of Ridgeland, SC; his daughters, Jennifer Lorraine Ard (Billy) of Beaufort, SC and Amanda Yvonne Anderson (Jimmie) of Ridgeland, SC; brother, H. Harley Mills of Beaufort, SC; sister, Mary Lou Woods of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan, Ashtyn, Kendahl, Wesley, Earley, Jeremy, Heather, Brandy, Gentry, Brittany, Quentin, Justin, Jessica, Nicholas, Matthew, Ally, Daniel and Evan and great grandchildren, Stephanie, Analee, Markie, Sophia, Chancey and Handy. He was preceded in death by his brother, R. Gray Mills. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday at the church with burial to follow in Ridgeland Cemetery.
