Jo-Ann Zweiban

Jo-Ann Zweiban passed away after a long battle in Sun City, Bluffton, SC surrounded by her husband of 60 years, Barry, and friends, and family.

Jo-Ann was born in the Bronx on March 4, 1943 to the late Harry and Janet Frank.  Jo-Ann moved to Long Beach, NY, as a teenager with her parents. While, in her senior year at Hofstra College, she picked up Barry hitchhiking in town, and they were married 6 months later on August 15, 1963.  Raising her son Jeffrey in Nesconset, Long Island, and later in Sharon, Mass. Her father married Martha in 1964, bringing two brothers and one sister into her life, along with nephews and nieces to come.

Jo-Ann became a travel agent, which perfectly fit for her love of travel, and then, opened her own travel agency, Pro-Travel.

Jo-Ann and Barry have travelled the world over their 60 years of marriage. These past 17 years in Sun City have been among her happiest. The social scene, Mah-Jong, card games, and of course, being part of Temple Oseh Shalom, have been incredibly fulfilling.

Jo-Ann is survived by her husband, Barry, her brothers Barry and Ronny, her sister in law, Pam, and the many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Jo-Ann’s services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 16, 2024 at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, Bluffton with burial to follow at Temple Oseh Shalom Memorial Gardens next to her son at 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. Shiva services to be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 7:00 pm at the Zweiban Home.
