Joan Pinckney Coburn

Joan Pinckney Coburn, 87 of Okatie, SC and widow of Edgar Mole Coburn, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her home. Joan was born in Savannah, GA on October 17, 1927 to the late Joseph and Willa Gnann Pinckney. Joan was a Customer Service Representative for 42 years with Savannah Bank and Trust and First Union Bank. Joan was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Port Wentworth, GA. There aren't many people you would call unforgettable, but Joanie was one of them. Everywhere she went in life she shared her goodwill, courage, generosity and optimism with a genuine love of people from all walks of life. Always the first to offer help, she was a strong, independent and loving woman. Anyone who called her a friend takes with them memories of her fun-loving spirit, humor and compassion. She was a true Southern Lady who never met a stranger and invited everyone she met into her home. Joan is survived by her sister, Brooke Rush(Bert)of Okatie, SC and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton with burial in the Pinckney Colony Cemetery, Bluffton. The family will receive friends from 5 til 7 pm, Friday, September 25th at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
