Joan (Bunny) Holleron of Sun City (Bluffton), South Carolina passed away on Friday February 11, 2022, at the age of 76. Joan died peacefully with her daughter by her side.
Bunny was born in New York in 1945, to father Frank Foerster and Mother Elizabeth McGrath Foerster. Bunny graduated Christ Nursing School in Jersey City with her RN. She enlisted in the Air Force where she met her husband of 55 years Robert (Bob) Holleron.
Following her military career, Bunny and Bob settled in South Plainfield, New Jersey and raised 4 children. Bunny and Bob were also foster parents and fostered more than 100 children. Bunny was known as everyone’s Mom, always willing to lend an ear. Every day there was always fresh bake cookies, sometimes Mom’s specialty giant chocolate chip cookies, when the kids came home from school. Bob and Bunny retired to Sun City (Bluffton) South Carolina. Bunny was a very good friend, reaching out whenever a new neighbor came into the community. In retirement, Bunny was active in many of the clubs that Sun City offers such as the arts and tap dancing. Bunny loved to read and often could be found on her porch swing with a good book.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert Holleron. She is survived by two brothers and one sister, Frank Foerster, Michael Foerster and Arlene Santos; children Lisa Montes, R. Andrew Holleron, Karen Lynch and Jennifer Holleron; grandchildren Patrick Holleron, Jelinda Montes and Evelyn Lynch.
Bunny will be cremated, and no services are being planned at this time.
