Joan Ann (Picking) Atkinson

Joan Ann Atkinson (Picking) 80, of Bluffton, SC, wife of George J. Atkinson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC.

Joan was born July 14, 1941 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Doris Picking Liedlich. She was a graduate of Western High School in Baltimore City, MD. Before retiring, she worked as an office manager for an insurance agency in Baltimore City, MD for over 20 years.  She was a lifelong avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She is also survived by her daughter Patricia Wagner and husband Glenn Wagner of Ridgeland SC and grandson Anthony Wagner and girlfriend Lindsay Currotto of Hanover, MD. She was preceded by brother John Fredrick Liedlich.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Marriottsville, MD.

Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements.
