Tucker, Joanne Marie, 76, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side after a brief illness on December 7, 2022. Joanne was born February 15, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Northeast Philly. After marrying our Dad, they moved from Northeast Philly to Fairless Hills Bucks County, PA and then to Indian Mills, NJ where we resided for 18 years there. Then after a short stay in Horsham, PA, moved to Bluffton, SC where they lived for the last 20 years.
Joanne devoted her time as mother and wife where she lovingly cared for our family. She was employed as a kindergarten aid in the same grade school as her children attended and later as a chiropractor’s assistant when they were in college in New Jersey. When the family moved to South Carolina, she deeply loved her three grandchildren born and raised there.
Joanne is preceded by mother, Marie Kustra, and father, John B. Kustra and survived by husband, Robert E. Tucker Sr. of 56 years, brothers Robert J. Kustra and Jack (Diana) B. Kustra, children, Holly (Sean) A. Matteo, and Robert (Sherri) E. Tucker Jr., and grandchildren Anthony M. Matteo, Nicholas S. Matteo and Annamarie J. Matteo.
Our most cherished memories with Mom are the weekend family drives, Sunday breakfast and dinner meals, watching Philadelphia Eagles games, Friday night pizza and game nights, shopping, shell collecting along the beach and laying in the sun. We loved sharing times of dancing, laughing, and all things Disney. Her love for Bichon Frise dogs, long talks, her faith, and love for life and caring for people will continue to live in our hearts.
