Joe Anderson Pinkerton, Jr. of Mission Hills, KS died suddenly on Saturday, March 20, 2010, in Bluffton, SC. He was born on March 22, 1938 in Franklin, TN to Joseph Anderson Pinkerton, Sr. and Estelle McCombs Pinkerton. Joe attended Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN, Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Medical School in Nashville, TN. After serving as a captain in the Air Force and completing his residency at Vanderbilt Hospital, he became a partner of Thomas Koontz Pinkerton at St. Luke
