John Alexander, 80, passed away on Friday, October 24th at Hilton Head Hospital. He was born June 11, 1934 in Rockville Centre, NY. He is the son of the late Adam and Marie Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of 60 years and 3 loving children; a son, Christopher Alexander from Maitland, FL; a daughter, Linda and Mike Abernathy from Anderson, SC; a son, John and Natalie Alexander from Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Erika, Matthew, Jacob, Paige, Casey, and Ty; and 2 great-grandchildren, Aidan and Jaxon. After serving in the military for 2 years he worked for Martin Marietta for 40 years then retiring to Belfair in Bluffton, SC where he pursued his passion for golfing.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, 10 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910 followed by a reception at the Belfair Clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org) or to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry (www.hospicecarelc.org).
